QUALITATIVE & QUANTITATIVE COMPOSITION OF ACTIVE INGREDIENTS
Lidocaine Hydrochloride 2% + Epinephrine 1:80,000
Indications
It is used in dentistry for local anesthesia by impregnation or stem infiltration in cases of routine surgical procedures (eg tooth extraction and preparation of cavities and abutments), bone and mucosal procedures, pulp procedures, prolonged surgical procedures.
Contraindications
Known hypersensitivity to amide-type anesthetics or excipients of i.d., acute porphyria, inflammation at the application site. Due to the epinephrine contained, they are not administered to patients with cardiovascular diseases (paroxysmal tachycardia, bradycardia, heart failure, severe conduction disorders, severe hypertension, thyrotoxicosis), to diabetic patients and to patients with angle-closure glaucoma. They are not given to children under 4 years of age.
Warnings
Administration with caution and at the minimum effective dose is recommended.
It must be possible to immediately deal with the reactions that may appear after administration
of the anaesthetic, which can be very serious in patients with severe heart rhythm disorders, atrioventricular block, liver or kidney failure, diabetes mellitus, in elderly or elderly people, in hypotensive patients, in children and in people with a history of hypersensitivity.
As long as the proprietary formulation contains sulphites, it is possible
to cause or aggravate allergic reactions, especially in asthmatic patients or in patients sensitive to sulfites.
Do not use the rest of the cartridges that have been opened for other patients.
Interactions
Epinephrine should be administered with particular caution to individuals taking medications that affect blood pressure such as MAO inhibitors, tricyclic antidepressants, phenothiazines.
Local anesthetics may interfere with (increase) the effect of sedatives.
