Tetric EvoFlow is a flowable, light-curing, radiopaque nano-hybrid composite for the restorative therapy and the cementation of ceramic and
composite restorations. Tetric EvoFlow cures with light in the wavelength range of 400–500 nm (blue light).
Shades
Tetric EvoFlow is available in several shades.
Composition
The monomer matrix is composed of dimethacrylates (38 % wt). The fillers comprise barium glass, ytterbium trifluoride, highly dispersed silicon dioxide,
mixed oxide and copolymer (62 % wt). Additives, catalysts, stabilizers and pigments are additional contents (< 1 % wt).
The total content of inorganic fillers is 57.5 % wt or 30.7 % vol. The particle sizes of the inorganic fillers range between 40 nm (0.04 μm) and 3000 nm
(3 μm). The mean particle size is 550 nm (0.55 μm).
Indication
As initial layer under Class I to V restorations
Anterior restorations (Classes III, IV)
Class V restorations (cervical caries, root erosion, wedge-shaped defects)
Small restorations of all types
Extended fissure sealing
Splinting of mobile teeth
Blocking out of undercuts
Adhesive cementation of light-transmissive indirect composite and ceramic restorations
Repair of composite and ceramic veneers
Contraindication
The use of Tetric EvoFlow is contraindicated:
if an adequately dry working field cannot be established or if the stipulated technique cannot be applied;
if the patient is known to be allergic to any of the ingredients in Tetric EvoFlow.
Side effects
In individual cases, components of Tetric EvoFlow may lead to sensitization.Tetric EvoFlow should not be used in such cases.
To avoid possible irritation of the pulp, areas close to the pulp should be protected with a suitable pulp/dentin protector (apply a calcium hydroxidebased
preparation to areas in close proximity to the pulp).
Interactions
Substances containing eugenol/clove oil may inhibit the polymerization of composite materials. Consequently, application of such materials together
with Tetric EvoFlow must be avoided. Discolouration may occur in combination with cationic mouthwashes, plaque disclosing agents and chlorhexidine.
