QUALITATIVE & QUANTITATIVE COMPOSITION OF ACTIVE INGREDIENTS
Mepivacaine Hydrochloride 3%
Introduction
It is a local anesthetic of the amide group. It has a fast onset and medium duration anesthetic effect.
Indications
It is used in dentistry for local anesthesia by impregnation or stem filtration in cases of simple tooth extractions and preparation of cavities or abutments.
Contraindications
Known hypersensitivity to local anesthetics of the amide type or to the excipients of the proprietary preparation. Acute porphyria.
Warnings
Administer with caution, at the minimum effective dose, and as long as it is possible to treat the reactions that may occur and which may be very serious, in patients with severe heart rhythm disorders, second or third degree AV block, non compensated heart failure, liver or kidney failure, in elderly or depressed people, in people with a history of allergy or hypersensitivity to drugs, in hypotensives, and in children.
Repeated injections in one dental session should be avoided. Monitor the patient for any allergic reactions or disturbances in the level of consciousness.
Administer with caution when there is inflammation in the injection area.
Interactions
Increases the sedative effect of sedatives. In simultaneous administration with bupivacaine, its absorption increases.
