Description:
They are Zinc Oxide/Eugenol root canal sealants. The products
are made up of two separate components, a powder base and a liquid catalyst, to form the
final device. The liquid catalyst is the same formulation for both products. Pulp Canal Sealer
is a fast setting material, while Pulp Canal Sealer EWT features an extended work time of greater than 6 hours on the pad.
Indications For Use:
Pulp Canal Sealer and Pulp Canal Sealer EWT are used for permanent obturation of the root
canal space with the aid of obturating points in accordance with ISO 6876 for Dental Root Canal Sealing materials.
Contraindications: None known
Warnings:
Pulp Canal Sealer/Pulp Canal Sealer EWT contains eugenol, which may be irritating to skin, eyes and oral mucosa
Avoid eye, oral mucosa and skin contact to prevent irritation or possibly allergic reaction. In case of contact with eyes rinse immediately
with copious amount of water and immediately seek medical attention.
In case of contact with skin or oral mucosa, immediately remove material from the tissues. Flush tissues with plenty of water. If
inflammation of mucosa persists, seek medical attention.
Prevent ingestion. If accidental swallowing occurs, have patient drink plenty of water. If illness develops, seek medical attention.
A small number of patients may experience an allergic reaction to eugenol-containing materials, and caution is recommended.
Do not overfill canal with sealer to prevent injuries to the periapical tissues.
Precautions
The presence of silver in Pulp Canal Sealer and Pulp Canal Sealer EWT can lead to staining
if any of the material enters the tubules of the tooth.
The use of a rubber dam is recommended in accordance with best clinical practices as
contact with saliva, blood and sulcus fluids may cause failure of the root canal obturation.
Store this material out of reach of children.
Mixing pads are intended for single patient use only, to prevent cross-contamination between patients.
Check expiration date of material on outer package. Do not use expired material.
Adverse Reactions:
Zinc Oxide-Eugenol based sealers may produce periapical inflammation in the initial few days after placement.
The inflammation subsides as healing progresses.
Pulp Canal Sealer EWT (Extended Work Time):
Work Time (Pad): > 6 hours at 21°-27°C and 40-60% relative humidity
Set Time (Mouth): < 2 hours at 37°C and 100% relative humidity.
