When applying Fiber-Splint/Fiber-Splint ML Multi-Layer/Fiber-Splint Ortho Evolution according to
paragraph H of these instructions, the use of bonding agent Fiber-Bond by Polydentia is recommended.

The Fiber-Bond bonding agent must be used only and exclusively in combination with the products, Fiber- Splint/Fiber-Splint ML Multi-Layer/Fiber-Splint Ortho Evolution for the intended use described in paragraph C of these instructions, where Fiber-Bond is only applied on the enamel. Fiber-Bond must not be used for any other purpose.

Indication

Stabilization of teeth with increased mobility due to periodontitis.
Stabilization of teeth with increased mobility or avulsed following a trauma.
Adhesive front bridges created with teeth restored in composite, with prefabricated teeth and original teeth with resected roots.

Contraindications
Do not use Fiber-Splint/Fiber-Splint ML Multi-Layer/ Fiber-Splint Ortho Evolution/Fiber-Bond on patients known to be allergic to one of the components.

Side Effect
For the intended use in which Fiber-Splint/Fiber- Splint ML Multi-Layer/Fiber-Splint Ortho Evolution in
combination with Fiber-Bond do not come in contact with the dentin, no side eff ects have yet been observed.

Interactions with other devices
The Fiber-Bond bonding agent must not be used together with products containing eugenol since these can inhibit the curing process.
Do not use any resin to modify the viscosity of the Fiber-Bond bonding agent.
To position Fiber-Splint/Fiber-Splint ML Multi- Layer/Fiber-Splint Ortho Evolution correctly on teeth, use Clip&Splint application clips.

Warnings
Since the Fiber-Bond bonding agent is sensitive to blue light, curing is activated also by daylight or artificial light (lighting of the operating fi eld). The curing process can be slowed down considerably by using fi lters that inhibit the passage of blue light. It is therefore advisable to expose the Fiber-Bond bonding agent to light only for the time strictly necessary for the preparation and application of Fiber-Splint/Fiber-Splint ML Multi-Layer/ Fiber-Splint Ortho Evolution. The Fiber-Bond bottle must be closed every time after use.
Incorrect application procedure increases the risk of device detachment.

Application

See pictograms
I. Preparing the teeth for application of the Fiber-Bond bonding agent
1. After scaling, clean all the aff ected teeth thoroughly with a prophylactic non-fl uoride paste and apply a dam.

2. Etch the palatal/lingual and interdental surface with 37% orthophosphoric acid according to the instructions for use provided by the manufacturer of the etching product used. Existing fi llings and/ or restorations can be included in the preparation if etched appropriately.

II. Applying the bonding agent
After etching the enamel it is not necessary to use a Primer before applying Fiber-Bond.
3. If necessary, highly mobile teeth can be stabilized temporarily by applying a few drops of Fiber-Bond or another bonding agent or fl uid composite (by following the instructions for use provided by the manufacturer of the composite) in the interdental spaces on the buccal side.
4. Cover the palatal/lingual and interdental surfaces to be treated with a layer of Fiber-Bond or another bonding agent.

III. Preparing the fi berglass strip
5a. Fiber-Splint Cut 6 strips to the required length.
5b. Fiber-Splint ML Multi-Layer / Fiber-Splint Ortho Evolution Cut the strip to the required length.

IV. Impregnating the fi berglass strip with bondingagent
6a. Fiber-Splint Impregnate the fi rst strip of Fiber-Bond or other bonding agent on a glass plate. The fabric must be completely soaked.
6b. Fiber-Splint ML Multi-Layer / Fiber-Splint Ortho Evolution
Impregnate the strip of Fiber-Bond or other bonding agent on a glass plate. The fabric must be completely soaked.

V. Positioning the fi berglass strips on the teeth, light curing and fi nishing
7a. Fiber-Splint Position the fi rst strip on the palatal/lingual surface and hold it in place by means of the Clip&Splint application clips applied in the interdental spaces.
7b. Fiber-Splint ML Multi-Layer / Fiber-Splint Ortho Evolution
Position the strip on the palatal/lingual surface and hold it in place by means of the Clip&Splint application clips applied in the interdental spaces.
8. Hold the ends of the strip in place by means of tweezers and cure each interdental space for the time indicated below.
Hardening of the fi ber strip applied with the Fiber-Bond bonding agent depends on the
characteristics of the curing lamp. As a rule, for a 1 cm long strip a curing time of 20 seconds is suffi cient. However, to ensure uniformity, approx. 30-40 seconds is recommended. This estimate is based on a light intensity of about 800 mW/cm2, which corresponds to the usual intensity of lamps with wavelength 400-500 nm (blue light). When curing with LED light, since many LED units emit light with wavelength of only 430 nm, a slightly higher power is recommended.

Fiber-Splint
Repeat steps 6 to 9 for the remaining 5 strips.
